LEGO Just Released Its Christmas Ornaments Building Set, Amazon Has Already Sold 30K Units

Holiday decorations usually fall into two categories: the cheap plastic stuff that breaks after one season, or the expensive ornaments you’re afraid to let kids touch. LEGO just released their Christmas ornament selection building set that solves both problems at once: You build four festive ornaments with your kids, hang them on the tree, and pack them away safely year after year without worrying about shattered glass or broken hooks.

Amazon’s already moved over 30,000 units since the launch, and at just $12, this limited-edition set costs less than a single fancy ornament from most holiday stores. The catch is, LEGO’s holiday products tend to vanish fast – and their Advent calendars are already out of stock everywhere, and this ornament set’s following suit.

Build Memories That Extend Beyond the Holiday Season

This set consists of 153 pieces that build four different ornaments: Santa with his iconic hat and beard, a snowman with a scarf and carrot nose, a wrapped gift with a red bow, and a reindeer with decorated antlers. Each of the ornaments is approximately 3.5 inches tall which makes them big enough to easily view on the tree without feeling too big for smaller branches. Kids aged six and up can handle independent builds, though some smaller pieces may require a parent’s assistance for younger children.

LEGO ornaments give you something store-bought decorations can’t match: they survive years of use without falling apart. Glass ornaments shatter when they hit the floor, cheap plastic ones crack and fade, but these brick-built decorations pack away in a box and come back out looking exactly the same next year. You can customize them by swapping pieces around or combining elements from other LEGO sets if your kids want to get creative.

These ornaments work as standalone tree decorations or combine with other LEGO holiday sets to create larger displays on mantels or shelves. You can build a whole winter scene by adding different LEGO Christmas sets over the years which makes your holiday decorating an ongoing collection rather than a one-time purchase. The price point makes it easy to grab multiples if you want extras for other trees, to give as gifts to grandparents, or to let each kid build their own set.

For $12, you get four ornaments-meaning you’re spending about three bucks per decoration which undercuts most specialty ornament shops and gives you something way more engaging than pulling some pre-made items out of a box.
