In September, a dead body was found in the trunk of a Tesla parked in a Hollywood tow yard that was registered to the 20-year-old singer d4vd. The body was identified as the 15-year-old Celeste Rivas who had been missing since April 2024 and had the same tattoo as d4vd. An old demo of d4vd’s called “Celeste” recirculated, and the victim’s mother said David was her boyfriend’s name. Now, d4vd has officially been named as a suspect.
According to NBC4, cops say Rivas’ death likely transpired in the spring and d4vd likely had help in dismembering and disposing of the body. An LAPD source also told the channel that d4vd has not been cooperative in the investigation.
Earlier this year Rivas’s brother told NBCLA that her family was aware that the girl knew d4vd. He said she was on her way to see a movie with him when she disappeared.
d4vd was supposed to share the deluxe album Withered: Marcescence on Sept. 19 on Interscope, but the release was shelved and his tour was canceled. Kali Uchis also had her collaborative song with him titled “Crashing” removed from streaming services.
