Billy Strings never really stops touring, so the fact that he visited The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Thursday night was no surprise. I was a little bit surprised to see he was there to promote Highway Prayers, an album that came out more than a year ago, but I then I realized my perspective was being tainted by flawed modern beliefs about the disposability of music. It’s cool for an album to have a long tail, culturally speaking.
Specifically, Billy and his band were at the Ed Sullivan to burn through “Leaning On A Travelin’ Song,” the album’s opening track. They crushed it, as they are wont to do. Watch below.
