Claim:
A video recorded in November 2025 authentically shows U.S. President Donald Trump having trouble walking with one of his grandsons due to dementia, leg braces, post-stroke complications and/or a pigeon-toed gait.
Rating:
What’s True
The video is real and displayed no signs of anyone using artificial intelligence or other means to alter its visual content. However …
What’s False
… One or more users edited out the end of the clip showing Donald Trump appearing to walk away in a fairly normal-looking manner. The video, credited to his eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, and as being recorded on Nov. 21, depicted him stopping multiple times, including on an upward ramp, to point out to his grandson, Theodore Kushner, individual portraits on the White House’s “Presidential Walk of Fame.” An authentic video from the following day showed the president walking as usual up to a group of reporters to field questions outside the White House.
What’s Undetermined
Claims of the president receiving a dementia diagnosis, wearing leg braces, experiencing a stroke or having pigeon toes (intoeing) were unfounded.
A rumor that circulated online in November 2025 claimed a video (archived) showed U.S. President Donald Trump “having a hard time walking” outside the White House with grandson Theodore Kushner, the youngest child of Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner.
This claim appeared prominently in X’s “News” section on Nov. 24, displaying the headline, “Video of Trump Walking with Boys Prompts Health Talk.”
(News via X)
X users claimed the clip provided evidence that Trump lives with dementia and wears leg braces (archived), as well as that he experiences post-stroke complications and was diagnosed with pigeon toes (archived) — a condition Cleveland Clinic published is also known as intoeing and is common in children, causing feet to point inward instead of forward.
Other users shared the video on Bluesky, Facebook, Threads and X (archived), including mentioning a potential link to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan Trump said he received in October 2025.
In short, the video was authentic in that it did not display any signs of users doctoring its contents with artificial intelligence (AI) or other video-alteration tools. Users’ claims about Trump living with dementia, wearing leg braces and other health-related matters were unfounded, though. One or more users edited out the ending of the clip showing the president walking away in a fairly normal-looking manner — as can be seen at the end of this YouTube repost:
Snopes contacted the White House to seek omment on these claims and will update this article if we receive more information.
Digging into the rumor
The video, which The Daily Mail credited to Ivanka Trump, depicted Donald Trump stopping multiple times, including on an upward ramp, to point out to his grandson individual presidential portraits on “The Presidential Walk of Fame.” Snopes did not locate Ivanka Trump’s original posting, indicating she possibly shared the clip in Instagram stories, which expire from public view after 24 hours. We emailed the Trump Organization to ask for clarity on the origins of the video.
Trump’s suit, red tie and American flag pin appeared to match that of his clothing from Nov. 21, when he met in the Oval Office with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.
The White House’s Facebook and Instagram accounts featured three photos of Trump and his grandson next to the portraits on the same day.
Ivanka Trump posted photos and a video on Instagram, including showing her son tossing a football with his grandfather.
On Nov. 22, the following day, Trump walked out of the White House to answer reporters’ questions near his presidential helicopter, called Marine One when he is onboard. A video showed Trump walking as usual, with a similar gait he’s had for several years.
For further reading, we previously reported about a video users claimed showed the president holding hands with his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., because he needed help leaving an elevated stage.
