Radiohead recently began their much-teased European tour, marking their first batch of shows in seven years. The tour only stops in five cities, however, meaning many international Radiohead fans have invested a lot of time and money into getting to the gig. Radiohead were supposed to begin their four-night run in Copenhagen tonight, but with just a few hours’ notice, the first two of those shows have been postponed so that Thom Yorke can heal from an “extreme throat infection.”
Tonight and tomorrow’s Copenhagen shows have been postponed to December 15 and 16. Radiohead wrote this in their update:
We are devastated to have to postpone these two shows at such short notice but Thom has been diagnosed with an extreme throat infection which has made it impossible for him to sing.
Treatment is underway and we’re hopeful Thom will recover in time to play the final two Copenhagen shows on Dec 4th and 5th, and all four Berlin shows, starting on Dec 8th.
We have been so blown away by the audience reactions on these dates and are loving being back on stage again; needless to say, we feel terrible that we have been forced to postpone these shows.
See that post below, and thanks to Stereogum reader Michael for the tip. Sorry about your travel issues.
