Angel Du$t, baby! My fucking guys! Next year, Trapped Under Ice monster Justice Tripp’s ever-evolving band of aggressive hardcore punk rock ‘n’ roll miscreants will release their new album Cold 2 The Touch. They recorded it with Turnstile/Title Fight producer Brian McTernan, and it features guests like Terror’s Scott Vogel, Cold Cave/American Nightmare’s Wes Eisold, Restraining Order’s Patrick Cozens, Twitching Tongues’ Taylor Young, and Frank Carter. I can’t wait for this thing. I think it’s going to be special.
Angel Du$t already dropped a handful of Cold 2 The Touch songs: “The Beat,” “The Knife,” the title track. All of those songs are hard and energetic and fun, and the same is true of their latest, which is just called “DU$T.” It starts off as a moodily catchy psych-pop number but then explodes into something way meaner but no less catchy. The track’s abrupt shifts in tone never feel forced or gimmicky. It all just works together. Not many bands can pull those changes off, but Angel Du$t always make it flow.
The Blaise Cepis-directed video for “DU$T” is a prime piece of sunny suburban weirdness that would’ve been right at home on 120 Minutes in the ’90s. On top of that, Angel Du$t recently announced a huge North American tour that includes shows with legends like Negative Approach, Crown Of Thornz, and Death Threat, as well as the likes of Home Front, Big Boy, Béton Armé, Combust, Midrift, Mil-Spec, and Outta Pocket. The show lineups are so complicated that I can’t even make one of those wingding keys for the dates; I’ll have to just put the whole bill on each gig instead. Check out the “DU$T” video and the tour dates below.
