Tripadvisor now has a loyalty program called Tripadvisor Rewards — and on Travel Tuesday (Dec. 2), you can earn a $50 activity credit simply for joining.
Here’s how Tripadvisor Rewards works and how you can save $50 or more on your next tour, class, event ticket or other activity.
What is Tripadvisor Rewards?

Tripadvisor is a platform for travelers to plan and book trips. You can set up a trip and add hotels, restaurants or activities that interest you, invite friends to contribute to your trip, leave community reviews and more. You can also book hotels and activities directly through Tripadvisor.
Tripadvisor’s new loyalty program, Tripadvisor Rewards, gives members 5% back on stays and experiences in the form of Trip Cash. You can redeem Trip Cash like money toward hotel stays and activities booked in the Tripadvisor app. It expires one year after it’s earned.
You can also earn bonus Trip Cash for being active on Tripadvisor. It’s not clear exactly how much Trip Cash you can earn for specific activities, but according to Tripadvisor’s website, you can earn bonus Trip Cash for “planning a trip, saving inspo, contributing to the community, and so much more. We’ll also have special challenges that will ask you to do certain actions for bonus Trip Cash.”
For now, most features of Tripadvisor Rewards — like earning and redeeming Trip Cash and accessing members-only offers — are only available in the Tripadvisor app. The app also gives you access to Tripadvisor’s price match guarantee.
Joining Tripadvisor Rewards is simple. All you have to do is download the Tripadvisor app, then create an account or log in to your existing account and verify your phone number. If you do so on Tuesday, Dec. 2, the $50 activity credit will appear automatically in your Tripadvisor Rewards section.

How to use your $50 activity credit
You have until either Dec. 31, 2025, or Jan. 1, 2026, to use the credit. It’s valid only once, so if you make a purchase of less than $50, you’ll forfeit the remainder of the credit.
For example, Lyndsey Matthews, TPG’s senior travel editor, used her credit to purchase a ticket to the Meow Wolf Santa Fe immersive art installation for an upcoming trip to New Mexico. The total cost was $42.18. Tripadvisor requires a minimum payment of $1 on all activity bookings, but her credit covered the rest of the purchase, and she’ll forfeit the roughly $9 left over.

Plus, Tripadvisor has a sale right now: You can save 25% on select bookings, up to a maximum of $25 off, with code “BOOK25” through Dec. 31 — and you can stack this deal with your activity credit.
I have my eye on a Colorado snowshoeing activity for two people, and when I go to check out, I can save a total of $75 by applying the discount code and my $50 credit.

But remember, the $50 activity credit can only be applied in the app.
Bottom line
If you ever use Tripadvisor to plan or book trips, you’ll want to join Tripadvisor Rewards to earn 5% Trip Cash on future bookings and get access to members-only deals. Even if you’ve never used Tripadvisor, it’s worth joining in the app to snag a $50 credit toward tours, tickets and more.
Use your $50 activity credit by the end of the year, and don’t forget to stack it with code “BOOK25.”
