Nightmarer – the band featuring vocalist John Collett (ex-Success Will Write Apocalypse Across the Sky, ex-Gigan), drummer Paul Seidel (ex-The Ocean Collective, ex-War from a Harlots Mouth), guitarist Simon Hawemann (ex-War from a Harlots Mouth), and now co-vocalist Christian Kolf (Valborg) – is back with a crushing new single and a new upcoming EP.
Nightmarer is now streaming “Shame Spiral” from their forthcoming EP Hell Interface, due out January 30, 2026. If you thought Nightmarer was heavy before, I think the addition of Kolf has put them into “holy shit” territory in terms of crushing-ness.
“Shame Spiral’ captures the band in a state of deliberate transformation: a rawer, more immediate evolution of the suffocating dissonance and meticulous sound design heard on their previous album Deformity Adrift,” wrote Nightmarer. “Blackened atmospheres, tectonic doom, and atonal violence collide in a downward pull that feels inescapable.”
