As Vines, Cassie Wieland essentially makes ambient chamber music, layering her processed voice and synth textures into solemn cathedrals of sound. So it makes perfect sense for Wieland to cover an old Christmas traditional in her signature style. Last year, that’s exactly what she did, applying the Vines treatment to “come thou fount of every blessing.” That one slipped past me at tje time, so I’m glad it appeared on her Bandcamp today like new.
