A second Star Wars game was announced at the Game Awards 2025, but this is very different than a single-player RPG. Instead, Star Wars: Galactic Racer is an intense racing game from some former Burnout devs.
Developed by Fuse Games, a studio formed in 2023 by some longtime former Criterion devs, Star Wars: Galactic Racer looks like a spiritual successor to Star Wars: Episode I Racer. Here’s the first trailer:
And yes, at the end of that trailer, that is indeed everyone’s favorite, no-good alien podracer, Sebulba.
“There’s so much love for Sebulba on the team and across the Star Wars community,” Fuse Games co-founder Matt Webster said. “There are particular reasons why he finds his way into our trailer as well as a detail in this shot that may lead to even more questions…the answers to which we’ll have to leave to another time!”
Interestingly, according to Webster, Galactic Racer will also feature some rouglike elements as players make choices on their journey to become the racer in the galaxy.
As for when this game is set, Galactic Racer takes place after the fall of the Empire in the same time period as the sequel trilogy. The game, as well as Sebulba, will launch in 2026 across consoles and PC.
