Some Lamb Of God fans in South Carolina reportedly got something very different than what they bargained for over the weekend, thanks to a ticket listing error on StubHub.
A December 20 event at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg, SC was mistakenly billed on the ticket resale site as a concert by the Richmond, Virginia groove metal band Lamb Of God. In reality, the performance had nothing to do with metal — or Lamb Of God at all. Mostly.
Instead of blast beats and mosh pits, attendees were met with Andrew Peterson‘s Behold The Lamb Of God, a Christian Christmas concert based on Peterson’s 2004 conceptual album, Behold The Lamb Of God: The True Tall Tale Of The Coming Of Christ. The album and accompanying tour center on the Advent and birth of Jesus Christ, making it about as far removed from Lamb Of God‘s music as possible.
A screenshot of the StubHub listing circulating online shows how the mistake could easily have misled buyers unfamiliar with Andrew Peterson‘s long-running holiday project. Adding to the embarrassment, December 20 marked the final stop of Peterson’s 13-date U.S. tour, meaning the event was clearly identifiable as part of a Christian concert series… if properly labeled.
Following the backlash, StubHub issued an apology and confirmed that refunds would be available to affected customers under its FanProtect Guarantee: “We acknowledge the listing for the December 20 event at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium was misleading and apologize for the confusion this caused.
“Ahead of the show we updated the event page and reached out to customers to clarify the event details. Anyone who purchased tickets under the impression this was a different performance is encouraged to contact us — we’ll honor a full refund.”
Lamb Of God last performed live in November, making the supposed December 20 “show” an immediate red flag for longtime fans. Frontman Randy Blythe addressed the mix-up with humor on his Instagram story, writing: “We usually play @groundzerovenue NOT Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. This why StubHub sucks. Merry Christmas, Spartanburg.”
Ironically, this isn’t the first time Lamb Of God have been mistakenly linked to religious events. Back in 2014, the band’s logo was used without permission on promotional materials for an Easter-themed event held annually in Salem, VA, prompting a similar round of confusion.
However! Lamb of God is set to return to the road this March for what promises to be the heaviest tour of 2026, with the North American trek featuring support from Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Get those dates below and get your tickets here.
