PARTY CANNON On New Single: “Imagine DEHUMANIZED, INTERNAL BLEEDING, DYING FETUS, And SUFFOCATION Riffs Played By The Dumbest People In The World While Wearing Oven Gloves”

“Improper Use Of A Speculum” is a song title that both makes you want to check the lyrics, and not at the same time. The new single comes from Scottish death metal band Party Cannon, and well, the band describes it in quite an interesting manner: “It took a little longer than we expected, because we’re idiots, but we’re back again – this time with a big honking tribute to east coast style death metal,” Party Cannon‘s bassist Chris Ryan said in a statement, “Imagine Dehumanized, Internal Bleeding, Dying Fetus and Suffocation riffs played by the dumbest people in the world while wearing oven gloves and you have this single.”

Further reflecting on the year Party Cannon have had, the song has been bouncing around their festival circuit with them, and it was time to release it, “If you caught us on our mammoth festival tour during the summer where we played a large number of big fests we had no business being on, then you may have already been subjected to this song live. While our IQs may have hit new lows with this song, we’ve also reached some new heights – this song has the fastest blastbeat we’ve ever recorded as well as the henchest ultra slam.”

And just as much as the Scottish are known for their sense of humour, the intensely named track actually comes from a real life situation, in which Ryan said he had “a major misunderstanding [during a] very minor medical procedure I was booked in for which my bandmates found particularly hilarious.”

“The video was filmed over our sets at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Tolminator in Slovenia, it really captures the unrelenting ‘dumbocity’ that is a Party Cannon live show,” pronounced dumbo-city or dumb-ocity, we’re not too quite sure ourselves, “We have way more tours to announce soon, so be sure to jump on that inflatable and crowd surf your way up to the front with us.”

Still a little unsure about checking out the lyrics, but we’ll get there. In the meantime, you can check out the music video below, and stream the new single here.
