WhatsApp Launches Official Apple Watch App: Beta Now Available Via TestFlight

If you are a WhatsApp user, it’s time to celebrate because after so many years, the app has finally been officially released for the Apple Watch, marking a significant expansion of the popular messaging platform. Currently available in beta through Apple’s TestFlight program, this version follows the success of WhatsApp’s Wear OS app and aims to offer users a more convenient way to manage conversations directly from their wrist.

The beta version 25.32.10.71 represents the first step toward full integration between WhatsApp and Apple’s smartwatch ecosystem. Until now, Apple Watch users could only receive notifications of new messages without being able to interact with them through a dedicated app. The new companion app changes that by enabling access to the essential functions of WhatsApp.

Through this Apple Watch version, users can read chats, send text and voice messages, view photos, react to messages with emojis, and manage incoming calls. Essentially, the app functions as an extension of the iPhone application, maintaining the same core capabilities but adapted for quick, on-the-go use.

However, the Apple Watch app is not a standalone version. It requires pairing with the iPhone where WhatsApp is installed and active. The smartwatch app depends on the phone’s connection to operate, meaning it mirrors the user’s existing WhatsApp activity rather than functioning independently.

A connection indicator is also included in the upper corner of the interface, showing the current status of synchronization between the Apple Watch and the iPhone. This allows users to easily identify when the link is lost or when data is successfully synced between devices.

For those interested in trying the app, the beta version can be accessed via TestFlight, Apple’s platform for testing pre-release applications. To install it, users need an Apple Watch running watchOS 10.0 or later.

WhatsApp continues to develop new features, such as “Channels,” which aim to attract more users and improve engagement across different platforms. The Apple Watch beta launch is another step toward creating a more connected and versatile messaging experience.
