What You’ll Need
I make these air fryer pork chops with a simple spice rub. These are some notes on the ingredients, and you’ll find the full list with recipe details in the printable recipe card after the post.
- Pork Chops – I use thick-cut (1”) bone-in pork chops. Thinner or boneless pork chops will take less time to cook.
- Olive Oil – Or your choice of cooking oil.
- Seasoning – My favorite pork rub is an easy blend of brown sugar, paprika, ground mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Feel free to change things up with your preferred herbs and spices. Cayenne, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and sage are other seasonings that go well with pork.
How to Make Air Fryer Pork Chops
Here’s a quick overview of the steps with photos, showing how quickly you can make perfect pork chops in the air fryer. Scroll down to the recipe card for the printable instructions.
Coat the chops with olive oil.
Rub with the seasoning blend.
- Season the chops. First, pat dry the pork chops with paper towels and rub them with olive oil. Next, mix up the spices and rub the blend generously into the chops, coating them evenly on both sides.
Arrange the chops inside the air fryer.
Cook!
- Cook. Place the pork chops into the air fryer and cook at 400ºF for 12-14 minutes, depending on the thickness of your chops. Flip the chops halfway through. After cooking, allow the pork chops to rest for 2-3 minutes. Then, slice and serve!
Recipe Tips
- Dry the pork chops well. Use paper towels to pat the pork chops dry before you season them. This way, the spice rub adheres to the meat.
- Check for doneness. Pork chops are cooked when the internal temperature reaches 140-145ºF. I highly recommend an instant-read meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Rest the chops after cooking. Just like chicken and beef, resting pork chops after cooking gives the juices a chance to redistribute. It’s the key to extra succulent slices.
Storing and Reheating Pork Chops
- Refrigerate. You can refrigerate leftover pork chops airtight for 2-3 days.
- Reheat. The easiest way to reheat pork chops is to return them to the air fryer! Heat them at 350ºF for 8-12 minutes, until they’re hot again. If you’re using the oven, reheat the chops in a baking dish with a little broth or water, covered with foil to prevent the pork from drying out.
- Freeze. To freeze your pork chops, seal them inside a freezer bag or container and freeze them for up to 3 months. Thaw the chops in the fridge before reheating and serving.
