The “serial intruder” who rushed Ariana Grande on the red carpet at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good has been deported and banned from the country. The Singaporean news outlet The Straits Times reports that 26-year-old social media personality Johnson Wen has been deported to his home country of Australia and is barred from re-entering Singapore, following a nine-day jail sentence he served after pleading guilty to one charge of being a public nuisance.
Wen, known online as Pyjama Man, is known for pulling these prank-type stunts where he typically interrupts large concerts and sporting events. Earlier this year in separate instances, he subjected both the Weeknd and Katy Perry to his antics, putting his arm around the singers and jumping around before getting yanked away by security.
But Wen’s most viral video yet is the clip of him pulling that same gag on Ariana Grande on the Wicked red carpet earlier this month. It’s particularly frustrating to watch; Grande looks terrified, and even if Wen meant no actual harm, she’s already been subjected to some unfathomable violence at the hands of a “fan” before. Please, stop trying to pull “pranks” on people who are just doing their jobs.
