Bad Bunny & J Balvin Squash Beef, Perform Together In Mexico City

During Bad Bunny’s rise to global superstardom, J Balvin was right there alongside him. In 2016, when Bad Bunny was just getting started and Balvin was already flying high, the Puerto Rican guested on the Colombian’s single “Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola.” Balvin popped up on several Bad Bunny singles in 2017. The two urbano stars both guested on Cardi B’s 2018 summer smash “I Like It,” and they followed that up with the collaborative album Oasis in 2019.

But it’s been a long time since they’ve worked together, and fans inferred that relations had soured in 2023 when Bad Bunny appeared to diss Balvin on “Thunder Y Lightning.” Sunday night, at the final show of his 2025 tour supporting Debí Tirar Más Fotos, Benito confirmed the beef existed by publicly squashing it.

At Mexico City’s GNP Seguros Stadium, Bad Bunny welcomed Balvin onstage to perform three songs, “La Canción,” “Que Pretendes,” and “Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola.” Balvin made a dramatic entrance, rising through the floor to join his fellow hit-maker mid-song.

As Rolling Stone points out, Bad Bunny admitted to dissing Balvin while explaining that he made amends several weeks ago. “I apologized a long time ago — people don’t know but we had a conversation a few weeks ago,” Bad Bunny said in Spanish. “But we were waiting for the perfect moment to share the stage, and it’s good that it was here in Mexico.”

Balvin also offered words of reconciliation: “I’m so proud of Benito Ocasio Martinez for what he’s doing, for what he represents. Because he takes us Latinos around the world. Because he’s a kind, hardworking man, and we always knew would become one of the biggest in music history.”
