- In fall 2025, TikTok user @razzledazzlemo released a video threatening to release Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s supposed account on Grindr, a gay dating app, if the lawmaker did not swear in Arizona Democratic Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, who has promised to be the deciding signature on a petition that would force a vote on releasing the so-called Epstein files.
- The user set a deadline of Oct. 1, 2025. Johnson did not swear in Grijalva by that date and @razzledazzlemo did not release any evidence proving Johnson has a Grindr account.
- The user has repeatedly claimed that the allegations are not a hoax or a scam. However, @razzledazzlemo has not provided any proof or shared details that would legitimize the claim. For example, the user claimed to have Johnson’s IP address, but an IP address alone can’t be used to identify a specific person or exact address.
In a video released in late September 2025, TikTok user @razzledazzlemo claimed to have proof of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s supposed account on Grindr, a gay dating app (archived).
The user, whose name was not public as of this writing, threatened to release Johnson’s Grindr profile “and IP address” if he failed to “swear her in” by Oct. 1, 2025. Presumably, by “her,” the user meant Arizona Democratic Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, whose stalled swearing-in had been in the news because of her promise to sign a petition that would force a vote on releasing additional files related to the investigation of deceased financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Grijalva’s signature would be the last needed to set that vote into motion.
The claims @razzledazzlemo made spread on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Threads and X.
As of Oct. 10, 2025, Johnson has not sworn in Grijalva and @razzledazzlemo has not released any evidence indicating that Johnson has a Grindr account. Furthermore, the TikTok user has provided no proof to back up any of the claims made in the videos about the alleged account, and a request for more information via the GoFundMe they made for supposed legal expenses has gone unanswered. Furthermore, @razzledazzlemo’s account was private as of this writing, so it was not possible to reach out via direct message on TikTok.
Thus, there was no legitimate evidence, as of this writing, that indicated Johnson’s alleged Grindr account ever existed or that @razzledazzlemo had proof of it.
Snopes previously examined a similar unsubstantiated claim from a different TikTok user. Social media users have frequently targeted Johnson with claims about his alleged connections to the LGBTQ+ community due to his history of anti-gay statements and policies. For example, in 2004, he called gay relationships “inherently unnatural” and “ultimately harmful” while advocating against legalizing same-sex marriage.
Johnson’s team did not provide a statement on the record about the Grindr allegations. As for Grijalva’s swearing-in, a spokesman for Johnson said via email that the speaker’s office “intends to schedule a swearing in for the Representative-elect when the House returns to session” in what the spokesman called “standard practice, with the House now having received the appropriate paperwork from the state.” The House, as of this writing, was not in session due to a government shutdown.
Here’s what we know:
@razzledazzlemo’s follow-up videosÂ
The first video threatening Johnson with the release of alleged Grindr account information appeared sometime around Sept. 28 (because of the account’s privacy settings, it was not possible to confirm the precise date or time). The same user posted a follow-up on Sept. 29 claiming to be touch with a “fantastic team of lawyers” and assuring viewers they were not “a danger to myself or others” (see 0:51). (All links to videos come from secondary sources because of @razzledazzlemo’s privacy settings.)
“I am no longer the only person with this information. It is backed up multiple times,” the TikTok user said at 1:09. “This is in no way was a shakedown for anything. I stand to benefit nothing from this.”
Then, in a Sept. 30 video, the user claimed — see 0:22 — that the “materials related to this matter have now been turned over to a trusted media authority, an investigative journalist who will vet the information and report as necessary” (archived).
“Any and all copies of this information that were in my possession are now out of my possession and have been turned over to several different sources,” @razzledazzlemo said, adding that TikTok allegedly put an “account ban warning” on the account and had taken down the original video.
In an Oct. 1 video — the day @razzledazzlemo promised to release the alleged Grindr account — the TikTok user again claimed to have turned over everything to a media outlet (archived).
“I legally cannot post anything on here now,” the TikTok user alleged (see 0:46). “That is the advice of my attorneys.”
The user also said people had sent death threats and that a GoFundMe associated with the account was not a scam. (As of this writing, that GoFundMe had raised more than $29,000 for “legal representation and relocation.”)
“No lawyer is taking this pro bono,” @razzledazzlemo said at 1:51, a reference to lawyers working without payment for the public good. They also claimed to be a comedian and an actor who lost their representation and could not go on auditions at the moment because of the situation surrounding Johnson’s alleged account.
No evidence supporting TikTok user’s claims
The TikTok user behind the claims has not provided any definitive evidence to back them up and has not publicly provided details that would help journalists investigate these claims. Even if @razzledazzlemo did release the IP address and Grindr account they claim to have, such information is easy to fake and an IP address cannot provide specifics such as a user’s name or exact physical address because it is a numeric identifier for a device, not a person.
A Google search determined that no reputable news outlet has published evidence of Johnson’s alleged Grindr account. The TikTok user did not state a timeline for the release of this information.
Investigative journalism takes time and a story such as this would likely not have a hard deadline for publication. However, as of this writing, no proof that @razzledazzlemo provided information related to Johnson’s alleged Grindr account to any media outlet has emerged. The TikTok user did not provide a name of the media outlet that purportedly has this information, nor did they share the name of the investigative journalist supposedly looking into it.
Furthermore, @razzledazzlemo did not share the name of their lawyer or lawyers, preventing journalists from reaching out to these purported lawyers for comment.
There’s not even evidence that @razzledazzlemo is truly an actor or comedian who ever had formal representation. The name of the organizer behind the GoFundMe is “Michael Johnson,” purportedly based in Harrisville, Rhode Island. (It’s possible that this name just references the speaker.) Searches for that name and location in IMDbPro, an entertainment professionals database, returned no results. Searches for variations of the TikTok username such as “Razzle,” “razzledazzlemo” and “Razzle Dazzle Mo” also returned no results.
In an Oct. 2 update to @razzledazzlemo’s fundraiser, the user said that any donors who regret their donation can get a refund.
“I assure you all this is no scam,” the user said in that update.
However, unless the TikTok user provides verifiable evidence of Johnson’s purported Grindr account, there’s no way to determine the motives or truth behind their allegations.
GoFundMe did not immediately return an inquiry into whether the company had investigated the legitimacy of @razzledazzlemo’s fundraiser or if the person behind the fundraiser had withdrawn money from it.
