The reclusive Cleveland underground legend Bill Fox returned this year with his first album in 13 years, Resonance, and even decided to start doing interviews again. Today he caps off his 2025 with two more new songs, packaged together as a 7″.
The A-side, “Alaska,” is a breakup ballad full of simple, beautiful acoustic guitar work and light tambourine shakes. “I need to work, and I need to be free,” Fox sings. “Please don’t weep over me.” On the B-side, a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Pale Blue Eyes,” he speeds things up but keeps them stripped down, relying heavily on the charming clatter of hand percussion.
