Would it be a month in 2025 if there wasn’t at least one band shake-up or break-up? Dayseeker announced earlier this week that their guitarist, Gino Sgambelluri, would be departing the band. It comes nearly two weeks after the release of Dayseeker‘s brand new record, Creature In The Black Night.
In a grid post to Instagram, Dayseeker announced that the split was a mutual decision, saying:
“Hey Dayseeker family,
We wanted to share that Gino and the band have mutually decided to part ways. This wasn’t an easy decision but there’s truly nothing but love and respect between us. Gino has been such an important part of Dayseeker’s journey and we can’t thank him enough for his passion, his kindness and the endless hours he spent dedicating his life to the project.
Please continue to show him nothing but love and support as we all move forward into the next chapters of our lives and careers.
–Rory, Zac & Ramone”
Sgambelluri reposted the statement to his personal stories, with fans flooding his social media with love, as well as questions. Sgambelluri was a vital part of Dayseeker from day one, the second to last founding member in the band. He was responsible in the beginning for lead guitar and backing vocals, but after the band’s third record, he also picked up rhythm guitar responsibilities. He was on all seven full-length releases.
Well, that’s just 2025, I guess.
