In December 2025, social media posts claimed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump is not a racist. He doesn’t care if you’re black, brown, yellow or normal.”

The posts, shared on X, Threads, and Facebook (archived here, here and here), did not include any video, audio recording or transcript to substantiate the alleged remark.

As the purported quote circulated online, many social media users questioned its authenticity. Multiple Snopes readers also emailed us and searched our website to verify it.

However, there was no evidence that Leavitt made the statement in question.

Searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo turned up no credible news reports supporting the rumor. If Leavitt had genuinely said these words, which include insinuating people who aren’t white are not “normal,” news outlets worldwide would have widely reported on the matter.

The quote originated from a post (archived) on the X account @TheFungi669, whose display name was “Captain Obvious.” Previously, in 2023, the account’s display name was “Captain Parody.” The account owner has since noted multiple times that it publishes parody content rather than legitimate news.

Snopes contacted the White House for comment and will update this story if we receive a response.

We have previously addressed similar claims shared by the @TheFungi669 X account. For example, the user previously posted a fabricated quote attributed to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem: “ICE agents are not racist. They don’t care if you’re black, brown, yellow or normal.”

The same account also shared a false assertion that U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., said: “Because of the political instability in the Middle East, it’s important to buy the Panama Canal from Egypt.” Another post that appeared on the account falsely claimed Boebert shot herself in the foot while aiming at a Chinese spy balloon that transited U.S. airspace in early 2023.

For background, here is why we alert readers to rumors created by sources calling their output humorous, parodical or satirical.
