On April 16, 2015, according to screenshots later shared on social media, future U.S. President Donald Trump retweeted a post that used sexist language to question then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s ability to lead the nation.
“If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?” the alleged post read.
More than a decade later, in November 2025, during Trump’s second term as president, the post resurfaced, and Snopes readers searched the site looking to see whether it was real.
Snopes found no evidence suggesting the post was fake — it was quoted in 2015 and 2016 reports by The Associated Press and Politico, and several screenshots of the post exist online.
However, Trump purportedly quickly deleted the post (both Associated Press articles note this), and Snopes could not find firsthand proof it was real. It was not visible on an April 17, 2015, snapshot of Trump’s Twitter profile from the Internet Archive, and it pre-dated archives of Trump’s tweets that would have preserved the post.
Because there is only secondary evidence supporting the tweet’s legitimacy, we’ve left this claim unrated.
In November 2025, Democrats on the House of Representatives Oversight Committee released thousands of emails linked to the deceased financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In 2019, Epstein died in his jail cell in what was ruled a suicide after being arrested on federal sex trafficking charges.
One particular email between Epstein and his brother Mark Epstein, which Snopes verified was included in the release, asked whether “Putin has the photos of Trump blowing Bubba.” Some social media users claimed “Bubba” was referring to former President Bill Clinton, leading to rumors that at some point Trump and Bill Clinton had engaged in oral sex. (Mark Epstein later said that “Bubba” did not refer to Clinton).
The 2015 post from Trump resurfaced accordingly, given Bill Clinton’s history with Monica Lewinsky.
