In addition to putting out his own great new album Baby over the summer, Dijon also worked on two Grammy-nominated albums in 2025: Justin Bieber’s Swag and Bon Iver’s SABLE, fABLE. People are digging the Dijon sound, but it takes a lot of people to replicate that sound live! Dijon made his SNL debut last night as musical guest, and as he teased ahead of the episode, his performance featured a massive band with some familiar faces.
Dijon’s SNL band featured the same crew who’s been accompanying him on tour: Daniel Aged, Amber Coffman, Andrew Sarlo, Henry Kwapis, Jack Karaszewski, and Michael Halderman. Additionally, there was Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Zack Villere, Nick Hakim, Rahm Silverglade, and Marshall and Parker Mulherin.
Some people were suspecting that Hakim, Vernon, and fellow SNL alumnus Mk.gee would join the SNL crew last night after they all joined Dijon’s band at his New York show at Terminal 5 on Thursday; Mk.gee was not included in the SNL band, but he did hang out at rehearsals per Dijon’s Instagram: “tour has been gorgeous and we just got to rock on live tv snl style for those out there in da wild,” he wrote. “Grateful true and couldn’t do it without the most divine squad ever. Grateful and buzzin and everyone who has bought a ticket is a light.”
The rest of last night’s SNL episode didn’t feature much in the way of music, besides a pre-taped music video in which Veronika Slowikowska, Jack Wickline, and host Melissa McCarthy deliberate where mysterious cousins go when family gatherings are over. Watch below.
