Claim:
A video authentically shows Netflix put its logo on the famous Warner Bros. water tower within days of its Dec. 5, 2025, announcement of its acquisition of the brand.
Rating:
On Dec. 5, 2025, Netflix announced it entered an agreement to acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO.
In the days that followed, a video spread across social media that apparently showed Netflix had pasted its logo over the Warner Bros. logo on the company’s iconic water tower in Burbank, California. Text on the video read, “Yoo these guys work fast!”
The video was most popular on TikTok (archived), where it was viewed millions of times. It was also shared to other social media platforms, such as X (archived), Reddit (archived), Instagram (archived) and LinkedIn (archived).
However, the video was artificially edited to make it appear as if Netflix put its logo over of the Warner Bros. logo on the water tower. As of this writing, Netflix had not changed the famous structure. For this reason, we’ve rated this claim a fake.
The oldest version of the video Snopes could find was posted to TikTok by the account @savingworldsandstuff (archived) on Dec. 6, the day after Netflix’s announcement. That TikTok account was run by Dontae Carter, a videographer and editor who has previously posted how-to guides on video editing and effects.
Snopes reached out to the @savingworldsandstuff TikTok account to confirm it was Carter’s video and that he edited the Netflix logo onto the water tower. We will update this story if we receive a response.
Photos of the Warner water tower from Getty Images and Alamy confirmed the landmark still featured the Warner Bros. logo in the days following Netflix’s announcement.
On Dec. 5, Getty published a photo of the water tower with the Warner Bros. logo on it taken from the same intersection as the edited video. An Alamy photo taken Dec. 6, the day the edited video was posted, showed the water tower was still without Netflix branding. A Getty photo from Dec. 9 showed the water tower still featured the Warner Bros. logo.
Such a change to Warner Bros. Studios’ most famous landmark would likely be premature, considering Paramount is still attempting to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery and muscle Netflix out of the picture.
