I associate Drugdealer, the musical project of Michael Collins, with a smooth yet vaguely sleazy form of 1970s singer-songwriter pop. Yet on “The News,” a new song paired with this year’s Weyes Blood collab “Real Thing” on a forthcoming 7″, Drugdealer dips into more of a ’60s vibe, channeling Beatles-era energy and craftsmanship. Collins worked on the song with Robbie Chemical, and you can hear it below.
“Real Thing” b/w “The News” is out 12/12 via Mexican Summer. Pre-order it here.
