Sharing my updated ten minute make up routine with you today. I am no make up artist, so anything I can do you can too! Trust me. I am going to break down my nine steps that take a total of ten minutes or less to achieve an everyday look. I will also be sharing some of my current skincare regimen below as well as links to all the product I am using right now.
This beauty routine differs slightly to one I have shared in the past. I am using a thicker moisturizer as we head into cooler, more dry weather. I am also toning down the highlighter and going for a more matte make up look. I have also switched up the lip color for something a bit more berry and bright. For reference I am 40 years old with combination skin!

STEP ONE: MOISTURIZE
First step for me is moisturizer! I am currently using this luxe cream as we head into fall and winter. I absolutely love the thickness and the application. Shop it here. Below I am going to share a bit more about my current skincare routine as well!
STEP TWO: FOUNDATION APPLICATION
I recently tried this lightweight foundation and have been loving it. I simply use my fingers for application and it goes on evenly and blends so well. It has great coverage while not appearing too thick. The lightweight oil formula also stays on all day. Super impressed with this product. I am wearing shade Atelier III.
STEP THREE: CONTOURING
While I am still contouring in this routine, compared to my past tutorial this method of contoring is a bit lighter and more natural. I am also not using a super strong highlighter so overall the feeling is more matte. I first use this stick on my forehead, cheek hollows and the sides of my nose. Here I am using shade Biscuit! For a light highlight I use this stick in Nectar on the high points of my cheeks, center of my forehead and top of my nose. Next I use my fingers to blend everything! I also love both of these products now come in travel size!
STEP FOUR: SETTING POWDER
Okay now it is time to set everything. I have been a Laura Mercier fan ever since I discovered the products while living in SF. The setting powder in Translucent is excellent. I simply brush a bit of the powder all over to help set the foundation and product I just applied.
STEP FIVE: EYESHADOW & BROWS
Okay moving onto eyes! Next up I use this palette for my eyeshadow. Lately I have been feeling more for warmer, sunset shades. I am using the Suede shade as the foundation and then layering on Buff and Tan. Once this is all applied and blended I use this brow gel.
STEP SIX: EYELINER
If you follow me closely you knew this step was coming…the cat eye. For almost a decade I have stood by Stila’s liquid eyeliner as my product of choice for this step. It stays in place all day, has an excellent application tip and is the perfect true black shade. 10/10, five stars! Shop it here.
STEP SEVEN: LIPS
Lips and mascara are my last two steps – I flip flop the order often but today I am swiping on some MAC satin lipstick in pink peppermint before moving onto mascara! Again I love how this color lives in the berry family but is a bit brighter and happier than Stila ‘Baci’ that I wear often.
STEP EIGHT: MASCARA
Now let’s layer on some mascara. I like my lashes THICK. I am currently using Lancome’s Idôle to achieve this look. From time to time if I want to create a super dramatic look I will also start with some lash primer!
STEP NINE: SETTING SPRAY
Set it and forget it! To ensure everything stays in place all day long I am using a setting spray. This one, this one and this one are my three faves!
SKINCARE RIGHT NOW
Now that I have shared my daily beauty routine at the moment I thought I would also share a few of my favorite skincare items I am using. Great skin is the foundation to any great make up look. A few of my go-to are below.
Therabody TheraFace Mask // This red light mask has made a noticeable difference in my skin after only a few weeks of use. I simply pop this on before I go to bed and am tidying up around the house. I am now considering this for my neck and chest!
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads // These gentle exfoliating pads have an easy to apply self tanner that is pretty fool proof. It is a nice, soft glow that you can build upon, so you don’t have to worry about streaks and drips. I love using them in the winter especially prior to a big party or event!
Dr. Barbara Sturm Serum // I have been using this serum as my first step every morning on clean skin. It helps slow the aging process and give my skin a little firmness boost!
Under Eye Patches // While I am making my coffee in the AM I pop these patches under my eyes to help get rid of that just-woke-up-puff. I store them in the fridge for a little extra chill.
