Ex-Wife Of AS I LAY DYING’s TIM LAMBESIS Details Abuse Allegations In New Podcast Interview

Dany Ciara, the now ex-wife of As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis, has come forward with extensive allegations against the singer in a newly released interview on the BREWtally Speaking Podcast. The volatile relationship between the former couple was central to the mass exodus of members from As I Lay Dying in the fall of 2024.

As personal footage of heated arguments between the pair began circulating online last year, Lambesis issued a public statement claiming that Ciara had “assaulted me and verbally/mentally abused me over 3 years,” adding that he had “multiple videos of her assaulting me,” photos of a black eye he claimed she caused, and that he had filed a restraining order and initiated a domestic-violence investigation.

Ciara later publicly denied those claims in January, stating that no restraining order or domestic-violence investigation was ever filed against her, and asserting that the videos Lambesis referenced were “instances of self-defense and outbursts against his ongoing physical and mental abuse, and repeated infidelity with hundreds of people.”

The nearly four-hour podcast episode finds Ciara discussing her upbringing, her relationship with Lambesis, their marriage, and the events that led to their divorce. Among the most serious claims addressed is Lambesis‘s assertion that he possessed videos of Ciara “chasing me around the house with a knife or scissors.”

Addressing that allegation directly at roughly 2:34:07 into the interview, Ciara said: “I do want to explain the context behind the biggest claim that he has against me, I guess, of me chasing him around the house with a knife. I will say I have pulled a knife on him more than once.

“There was this cycle of when things would escalate and I could feel it happening. There were signs I knew when it was going to get physical. It started out with Tim pinning me down, putting his body weight on top of me so I can’t breathe. I’d be screaming for help. We had several roommates, a lot of them were men Tim spent time with in prison. I don’t know — some kind of bro code where you don’t snitch. They weren’t there to help me.”

She continued: “If I didn’t agree to quit being angry with him or be in the mood he wanted me to be in, it would escalate. He would pin me down. He would strangle me — which I have evidence of. One of his so-called witnesses was in the house while I was screaming at the top of my lungs for help. The neighbors called the police. He didn’t come help me. I texted him the next day saying I couldn’t believe he didn’t help me when I was screaming like that.”

Ciara later elaborated on why she claims weapons were involved at times: “I would feel it get to that point. I’d feel it coming. If there was a weapon near me — no matter what it was — I would pick it up and hold it out to keep distance between us.

“He was 110 pounds heavier than me and strangling me. There were times I thought he wasn’t going to let go of my throat. Why would I let him get close to me? The only time I ever pulled a knife on him was to keep him away from me. I’m not ashamed of that.”

She also claimed that videos Lambesis allegedly shared lacked audio: “I bet if he showed those videos, you’d hear me saying ‘stay the fuck away from me.’ Context matters.” During the podcast, Ciara displayed screenshots of text conversations with roommates she says corroborate her account.

At approximately 2:59:30, Ciara showed logs she claims document multiple police visits to their shared residence for domestic-violence calls. She alleged that Lambesis was initially arrested on suspicion of battery during one incident and that she later intervened to have potential charges dropped.

Explaining why she contacted the district attorney, Ciara stated: “I didn’t realize they were going to arrest him. He was freaking out because charges could affect his career and travel. I would have done anything to protect him. I wrote a letter to the DA saying I lied to police and that it was all my fault. I have texts showing I planned the lie. I took the guilt even though he physically assaulted me. I was willing to get myself arrested just to protect him.”

She added: “Now he uses that letter as proof I was the crazy one. But I also have texts showing exactly why I wrote it.”

Following the release of the interview on December 28, Lambesis issued a lengthy statement on social media, saying in part: “I stayed quiet about my personal life because it wasn’t relevant to the work. I’m only speaking now because the same pattern keeps repeating. Old stories resurface only when my life and career move forward again.

“If anything illegal had happened in the years since, it would have been addressed through proper channels. Some people build things. Others only appear when there’s something to attach themselves to. In the end, it’s the work that lasts, not the noise around it.”

He later added in comments: “It’s reasonable to have a panic attack when a person traps you in rooms for days and chases you with a knife. There were multiple witnesses, both male and female.”

In another reply, Lambesis wrote: “They just want me to be the bad guy and believe anything that comes out of a psychotic woman’s mouth.”

As of press time, the allegations remain disputed, and no new legal action has been announced. The full BREWtally Speaking Podcast episode remains available online, featuring Ciara‘s complete account and visual evidence she chose to present.
