Grounding rumor Trump gifted his private plane to Make-A-Wish Foundation

A rumor that U.S. President Donald Trump donated his private campaign plane, known as Trump Force One, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation — a nonprofit group that grants “wishes” to children with life-threatening illnesses — circulated online in early December 2025. For example, Facebook account America’s Last Line of Defense posted the claim (archived) on Dec. 8. The caption read:

President Trump has gifted his famous “Trump Force One” campaign 737 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation so kids can travel anywhere to make their wish come true.

“I don’t really need it anymore,” Trump said to reporters, “so I figured I’d give it to the children. They’ve been through so much.”

Thank you for all you do, Mr. President!

Variations of the rumor spread on Instagram (archived) and X (archived) as well.

Some readers seemed to interpret the rumor as a factual recounting of real-life events. However, there was no evidence of Trump donating his plane to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Rather, the rumor about Trump’s alleged donation originated with America’s Last Line of Defense — a social media account and website that describes its output as being humorous or satirical in nature. Its About page states:

Everything on this website is fiction. It is not a lie and it is not fake news because it is not real. If you believe that it is real, you should have your head examined. Any similarities between this site’s pure fantasy and actual people, places, and events are purely coincidental and all images should be considered altered and satirical. See above if you’re still having an issue with that satire thing.

A Google search of the keywords “Trump Make-A-Wish Foundation” primarily revealed results related to the claim. If there was any veracity to the rumor, reputable news media platforms would have reported the news.

Shortly after Trump’s presidential win in November 2024, flight tracking sites such as CelebrityPrivateJetTracker.com ceased tracking his private campaign plane’s activity (possibly due to security concerns). The last listed activity occurred on Nov. 21, 2024.

We also searched the Make-A-Wish Foundation site for evidence Trump donated his private plane, and found nothing. The latest news release (archived), as of this writing, was dated Sept. 9, 2025.

America’s Last Line of Defense — also known as the Dunning-Kruger Times — has a history of making up stories for shares and comments.

Snopes has addressed similar satirical claims stemming from the site in the past, including the assertion that New York City broke a world record for real estate listings after Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s win in November 2025 and a rumor that the Clinton Foundation lost its tax-exempt charity status after a Pentagon audit.

For background, here is why we alert readers to rumors created by sources that call their output humorous or satirical.
