The War On Drugs kicked off their annual Drugcember To Remember holiday benefit at Philly’s Johnny Brenda’s earlier this week, and the event has been full of guests. Last night, Joe Walsh — who joined the Eagles 50 years ago today — was welcomed by the band onstage, along with Craig Finn of the Hold Steady.
With TWOD, Walsh did his own “Rocky Mountain Way” and “In The City,” in addition to TWOD’s “Under The Pressure.” Finn performed his own “Sweetheart Like You” and “Postcards” with the group.
On Thursday, Real Estate’s Martin Courtney was a special guest, covering Gene Clark’s “From A Silver Phial” and Lou Reed’s “Satellite Of Love” with TWOD. On Wednesday TWOD also seemingly did some unreleased songs at a Friends & Family warmup. Below, watch footage from the event, which wraps up tonight.
