Kneecap Team With Sub Focus On New Single “No Comment”

It’s been an extremely busy year for Kneecap, and it’s not over yet. When the Belfast dance-rap trio released their last single “Sayōnara” in September, group member Mo Chara was still facing wildly overstated terrorism charges in London. That case has since been thrown out, and now Kneecap have come back with a new Irish-language single called “No Comment.”

Kneecap recorded “No Comment” with Sub Focus, the UK dance DJ and producer who recently released the Grimes collab “Entwined.” That puts Kneecap, what, three degrees of separation away from Elon Musk now? I don’t speak the language of (some of) my ancestors, so I don’t know what Kneecap are talking about on “No Comment,” but they’re kind enough to explain it: “‘No Comment’ is all about getting harassed by the British State. Simple as. Us Irish are well used to it, been happening for centuries. Was a pleasure to work with Sub Focus on this, the man is a legend.” The song keeps the energy up, and you can hear it below.

“No Comment” is out now on Heavenly/[PIAS].
