LEGO Gives a Black Friday Treat to Star Wars Fans as the Dark Falcon Starship Hits Its Lowest Price Ever

In the lead up to the sequel trilogy, a popular fan theory had been circulating around the internet. The Star Wars community speculated that the original vision for the prequels was to reveal Jar Jar Binks as the big bad of the trilogy all along, but George Lucas had gotten cold feet after the lukewarm reaction to the comic relief character following the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Star Wars fans level of seriousness about this online varied dramatically, but it was certainly fun to think about.

Well it now looks like LEGO has leaned in fully to this alternate course the series could have taken with its Star Wars The Dark Falcon set. Right now, ahead of Black Friday, Amazon has this truly unique LEGO Star Wars set on sale right now for 16% off. It normally is priced at $180, but the discount takes off $28 so you only end up having to pay $152.

This bizarro version of the universe we all know so well flips all our favorite characters’ ideologies around. The ship is jet black with red accents to evoke the Sith, while minifigures all get a evil-to-good and good-to-evil makeover.

Your Favorite Star Wars Characters, But Different

Of course, we have Darth Jar Jar as well always wanted to see him. The gungan native of Naboo wields his own double-bladed red lightsaber not unlike that of Darth Maul as we know his. Joining him on the dark side is Rey who also wields a double-bladed red lightsaber but not in the way you’d think. This one runs parallel. C-3PO is now a bounty hunter, though his design hasn’t changed all too drastically. Darth Vader is now Jedi Vader, donning a heroic white wardrobe with the blue lightsaber he wielded back when he still went by the name Anakin Skywalker. And then, most menacingly, Luke Skywalker—the hero of the original trilogy who made us fall in love with Star Wars—takes the darkest turn of all. He’s a beach guy now. LEGO decided to make Luke looks less like a Jedi and more like The Dude from The Big Lebowski. He’s also carrying his favorite blue milk. Yum.

The Dark Falcon itself is interactive. The 1,579-piece set measures in at over 5 inches high, 7 inches long, and 12.5 inches wide. It’s equipped with top panels that can flip up so you can peer into the detailed interior. The ship has two spring-loaded shooters you can target enemies with. There’s a removable throne for Darth Jar Jar to seat himself in and jail cell for you to place Beach Luke where he belongs. The cockpit opens up as well for you to place two LEGO minifigures inside.

The whole set is built not on a proper Star Wars story, but of a four-episode animated series depicting these characters in their LEGO form. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy released last September and you can watch it on Disney+. You can pick up the LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon set for yourself though or a loved one this holiday season for just $152 for a limited time.
