Malefic Throne – the band featuring Morbid Angel bassist and vocalist Steve Tucker, drummer John Longstreth (Dim Mak, Hate Eternal, Origin, etc.), and guitarist Gene Palubicki (Perdition Temple, ex-Angelcorpse) – is set to release their debut album The Conquering Darkness on November 28.
But you can get your whole head caved into your spine right this second thanks to the first single “The Voice of My Ghost”. This just feels like “Morbid Angel but extra fast and with some extra Erik Rutan” and I’m here for it.
“This bands roots can be traced all the way back to the mid 90s when Gene, Steve, and I first met at Morrisound studios,” John Longstreth comments. “It’s an amazing feeling to see those old conversations and hang outs develop into a true celebration of blistering infernal death metal. I have no doubt that this union will be absolutely crushing.”
The Conquering Darkness was recorded, mixed and mastered at Menegroth The Thousand Caves (Gorguts, Origin, Atheist) with Colin Marston. Its cover artwork was painted by renowned artist Daniele Valeriani (Dark Funeral, Mayhem). Christophe Szpajdel (Emperor, Moonspell) crafted the band’s logo. Pre-orders are available here.
