Welcome back to Mandy, Indiana. In 2023, Mandy, Indiana made waves with their otherworldly debut full-length i’ve seen a way. Today the English-French noise rock band announce their signing to Sacred Bones and their sophomore effort, amazingly titled URGH. The dark, visceral lead single “Magazine” is here now.
“‘Magazine’ is the expression of the frustration and deep-seated violence I felt while attempting to recover from being raped,” vocalist Valentine Caulfield says. “Just like most victims of sexual assault, I will never get justice, and just like most perpetrators, my attacker will never be punished. My therapist encouraged me to channel my anger into something productive, so here it is: my primal, screaming call for retribution. It is the only way I will ever get to say to my rapist: you hurt me, so I’m going to hurt you.”
URGH was co-produced and co-mixed by Fair and Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox, and one track features billy woods. Dive into “Magazine” below.
