Megadeth is now streaming the second single from their 2026 self-titled farewell record and it’s… alright? Musically, “I Don’t Care” isn’t bad – it’s got the snot and snark of old-school Megadeth with plenty of excellent solos thrown in. But those lyrics are a little difficult to listen to.
Megadeth is set to release Megadeth on January 23, 2026. The self-titled record will arrive via frontman Dave Mustaine‘s Tradecraft imprint through Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label, marking the band’s closing chapter after more than four decades of influence. Pre-orders for Megadeth are available here.
In a press release, Mustaine reflected on the decision to end Megadeth on their own terms: “Most musicians don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye.”
He continued: “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world.”
The first wave of Megadeth farewell dates includes a handful of Latin American dates for next April and May. Included in the list below are also some of Megadeth‘s upcoming European festival dates in 2026, as well as their tour with Iron Maiden. Get your tickets here.
