Vancouver legend Nardwuar The Human Serviette has been spouting catchphrases and bringing heavy and arcane research to his musician interviews for decades, and he’s more widely recognized now than ever before. Earlier this year, Nardwuar got his own Nike Dunk Lows. Now, he’s been appointed to the Order Of Canada.
As CTV reports, the man born John Ruskin is among one of 80 Order Of Canada appointees who were announced today; the list also includes children’s music giant Raffi and country singer Terri Clark. The Order Of Canada, Wikipedia tells me, is the second-highest honour for merit in Canada’s system of orders. (I guess they spell “honor” like that on Wikipedia when they’re talking about Canadian things.) In an Instagram video, Nardwuar seems very happy.
