There are a few new promotions from American Airlines AAdvantage available right now, which, though unlikely to alter your plans significantly, present a nice potential boost to your AAdvantage miles balance.
In the promo I was targeted for, you get 100 bonus miles just for registering. It took me less than a minute. Once registered, you can then earn an additional 3,000 miles when booking with American’s hotel and car rental partners. You can find the offer under the “Promotions” tab in your AAdvantage account, accessible via the American Airlines website or app.

There are reportedly several other offers some members are targeted for, including earning 500 bonus miles by shopping through the AAdvantage eShopping platform, dining with participating AAdvantage Dining restaurants or buying tickets through the AAdvantage Events platform. You’d earn 500 bonus miles per category and another 1,000 miles when you complete two of the three. In addition to your 100 miles just for signing up, you could earn as many as 2,600 miles from this deal.
Unfortunately, you won’t earn Loyalty Points.

- Register by 11:59 p.m. CT on Dec. 31, 2025, to earn 100 AAdvantage® bonus miles
- Stay at a participating hotel booked on the AAdvantage Hotels™ platform by Feb. 28, 2026, and earn 750 AAdvantage® bonus miles
- Rent a car with the AAdvantage Cars™ platform by Feb. 28, 2026, and earn 750 AAdvantage® bonus miles
- Complete both activities by Feb. 28, 2026, and earn another 1,500 AAdvantage® bonus miles
TPG’s December 2025 valuations peg AAdvantage miles at 1.55 cents apiece, making 3,100 miles worth around $48. That’s not too bad for a few minutes of your time.

American Airlines is running a new targeted promo offering as many as 3,100 bonus miles once you register and complete various activities. It’s not an amazing deal by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ll always take a few extra bonus miles. It’s also a great way to reset your mileage expiration. Remember that AAdvantage miles expire after two years of inactivity if you don’t have status or hold one of the airline’s credit cards.
