GLEAM | 2026 Request for ProposalsFeatured
Olbrich Botanical Gardens invites proposals for temporary, light-based installations for GLEAM, Art in a New Light, a public art exhibition situated within a 16-acre Midwest landscape or a 10,000-square-foot tropical conservatory. The 2026 exhibition will focus on concepts that present a captivating environment, offer play experiences, and illuminate creatures of all shapes and sizes, real and imaginative. GLEAM will be open for public viewing from August 29 to October 24.

Contemporary Reflection Art Exhibition (International)
Artists from all disciplines are invited to submit works for the Contemporary Reflection exhibition, exploring the complexities of modern life, identity, and cultural transformation. The show will run from December 1 to 7 at Cornerstone Studios in London. There is a £20 application fee.

Open Call for 2027-29 Exhibitions at Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon (Ireland)
This open call is an opportunity to share work that’s new to the audience in Dublin and the general M50 area (i.e. North Wicklow, South Dublin, Fingal, and Kildare). Selected artists will receive a fee—€6,500 for established artists or €4,300 for emerging artists—and an exhibition at the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire.

Glen Arbor Arts Center Open Call for INteriors (International)
The INteriors exhibition is an exploration of inner spaces, both real and imagined. The show will run from January 9 to March 12, 2026, and feature work made in the past three years. There is a $35 application fee ($25 for GAAC members).

Sight/Geist: Film & Performance Open Call (New York City)
The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation is seeking submissions for its sixth season of Sight/Geist, a series that supports emerging film and performance artists. The artist fee for participation in a one-night group screening is $300, and the stipend for a one-night solo performance is $1,000.

Locust Projects Main Gallery Open Call (International)
Locust Projects invites local, national, and international artists to apply for the opportunity to create ambitious, large-scale, new work in its 2,500-sq.-ft. main gallery in Miami. Locust Projects provides selected artists with curatorial guidance, a production budget, a W.A.G.E. fee, documentation, and an opportunity to stay in the Locust Projects residency.

Creative Commission for Sycamore Gap Tree (International)
The National Trust invites artists, organizations, and creative agencies to submit proposals that will breathe life into the wood saved from the felled Sycamore Gap tree. This opportunity will see up to five shortlisted artists receive funding to develop their ideas, with one final concept selected in early 2026. The shortlisted artists or collaborations will each receive £5,000 to develop their proposals.

Voices Embodied: VI Open Call (International)
This open call invites artists to apply for the sixth iteration of the Voices Embodied Project, taking place at the Design Museum of Chicago from June 2026 to January 2027. The show considers disability in relation to identities and celebrates visibility, collaboration, and community engagement.

Sanctuary Open Call at Decagon Gallery (International)
Sanctuary is both a place and a feeling: a refuge, a moment of peace, a return to oneself. This open call invites photographers worldwide to interpret this theme through landscapes, interiors, portraits, abstractions, or documentary work. The first-place award is $500 plus an online exhibition, while the second receives $300 and third receives $200. The entry fee is $5.

Evolving Freedoms: Exploring Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness (U.S.)

Artadia Awards (Houston)
The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure, and recognition to artists. The $15,000 awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose.

MAKE Thesis Grants (International)
The MAKE Thesis Grant champions and spotlights emerging talent by directly funding original animated thesis projects (short films). Senior BFA/BA and MFA/MA animation students and teams are welcome to apply. Prizes available include $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third.

Booooooom Illustration Awards (U.S.)
Five winners across five categories, in addition to 20 shortlisted illustrators, will be featured in a special print publication, created exclusively to showcase award winners’ work. Southern Prize and State Fellowships for Visual Arts (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee)
This state-specific prize of $5,000 is awarded to artists whose work reflects the best of the visual arts in the South. The nine state fellowship recipients will compete for the $25,000 Southern Prize, which will be awarded to the artist whose work demonstrates the highest artistic excellence. A runner-up will be awarded $10,000.

Prisma Art Prize (International)
This annual art prize is open to artists working in painting, engraving, and drawing and offers exhibition opportunities and €2,000 in cash awards annually. There is a €34 entry fee.

Bobby Anspach Studio Foundation Grant Program (International)
The Bobby Anspach Studios Foundation launches its inaugural grant program to support creatives and researchers whose work deepens dialogue on meditation, psychology, creativity, and collective engagement as vital pathways to harmony and health. The foundation will award two grants of $50,000 and three grants of $8,000.

The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)
This program provides one-time financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs resulted from an unforeseen catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Awardees typically receive $5,000 and up to $15,000.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (International)
The foundation welcomes applications from painters, sculptors, and artists working on paper, including printmakers. Grants are intended for one year and range up to $50,000. The artist’s circumstances determine the size of the grant, and professional exhibition history will be considered.

Residencies, Fellowships, & More
Playground Detroit Emerging Artist Fellowship (Detroit)
The 2025 Emerging Artist Fellowship provides financial support and professional mentorship for artists to develop their individual practices. Three emerging Detroit artists will be selected to receive $5,000 Fellowship Awards in 2025. The fellowship prioritizes applications from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists and exhibition proposals exploring concepts addressing current issues and contemporary social justice topics.

Between Bridges Residency (International)
Between Bridges’ next residency for visual artists will take place from July to December 2026 and includes a working phase as well as a one-month exhibition or public presentation. The residency is open to professional individual artists, artist duos, or small groups working collaboratively. The residency provides access to the organization’s facilities in Berlin Schöneberg and offers a monthly stipend of €1,500 (regardless of the number of participants) and the opportunity for studio visits. An additional budget of €5,000 is allocated specifically for the exhibition or presentation.

ACRE Summer 2026 Residencies (International)
Artists’ Cooperative Residency & Exhibitions (ACRE) is an artist-run, community-driven organization that produces programs and initiatives offering ongoing resource-sharing and opportunities for professional growth. ACRE’s residency takes place every summer in rural Southwest Wisconsin, and facilities provide a range of workspaces for ceramics, textiles, sound, and more. The subsidized fee is $700 per person for a 14-day residency. There is a $45 application fee until November 9, then a $60 fee until November 18.

Bernheim Forest Artist-in-Residence Program (International)
Established in 1980, this internationally renowned program annually awards visual artists of all media the opportunity to live and create site-specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. Up to four artists are selected, with one residency always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or Clark and Floyd counties in Southern Indiana, and one residency always dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis.

Prairie Ronde Spring 2026 Residencies (International)
Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, in the historic village of Vicksburg, Michigan. Artists from a range of disciplines are provided with a five- to six-week residency to engage with The Mill and its surrounding 80-acre property. The spring residency period runs from March 15 to May 31. Artists receive a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the residency, a $500 travel grant, private housing, and a gallery show. There is a $25 application fee.

Jan van Eyck Academie 2027 Residency (International)
The Jan van Eyck is open to a wide array of disciplines and approaches, ranging from material-based to research-driven practices, addressing both urgent global issues and more personal inquiries. The residency runs for 11 months, from January 15 to December 15, 2026. Housing is included, and participants receive a monthly stipend from which accommodation rental is deducted. There is a €78.65 application fee (including VAT), and waivers may be available depending on location.

Glen Arbor Arts Center 2026 Artist-in-Residence (International)
The Glen Arbor Arts Center offers several opportunities for artist residencies each year. The purpose of the residency program is to provide visiting artists with a respite from daily responsibilities to enable them to concentrate on their work. Housing and studio access is provided free of charge. Artists, musicians, and writers working in a range of mediums may apply for residencies that last two weeks. There is a $35 application fee.
