Poison hasn’t played a show since their massively-successful 2022 tour with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. Those bands have all since continued to tour, but it’s been dead silence from the Poison camp. So what’s up?
According to Poison drummer Rikki Rockett in an interview with Robert Edwards of Talkin’ Bout Rock, he and band vocalist Bret Michaels haven’t spoken in a few years. Or in his own words: “Bret and I do not talk, unfortunately. And that’s a shame — honestly, it is. So we get bits and pieces of stuff.”
Rockett further elaborated that fans shouldn’t expect a 2026 tour in celebration of Poison’s 1986 album Look What the Cat Dragged In turning 40. Not because there were no offers – there were, but Rockett said Michaels never responded to any of it.
“I’ll set the record straight as far as Poison touring: at this point in time, there is nothing on the books for a 2026 40th-anniversary tour. And I said it months ago when we got presented a contract from Live Nation to go on tour [next year]. C.C., Bobby and I agreed. We thought it was great. We thought the money was great. We thought the lay of the land looked great. And then Bret looked at it and has not agreed to anything. So literally that is where we’re at.”
Which especially insane considering that 2022 tour sold 1.3 million tickets and raked in a cool $173.5 million. So it’s not like the demand for a Poison show isn’t there. Mostly from your relatives with the back tattoos and Harley Davidson shirts, but hey – an audience is an audience.
