Post Malone has earned his first CMA Awards win. The singer-songwriter was among the artists named in an early round of CMA Awards wins announcements in two categories on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Post Malone and Blake Shelton won for CMA musical event of the year for their collaboration “Pour Me a Drink,” a Billboard Country Airplay chart-topping song that was featured on Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion. “Pour Me a Drink” was produced by Louis Bell and Charlie Handsome.
Post Malone is also up for album of the year at the CMA Awards ceremony held later in the day for his F-1 Trillion project. Last year, the album debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and became his first leader on the Top Country Albums chart.
Other early winners were Riley Green and Ella Langley, whose Western movie-themed music video for “You Look Like You Love Me” was named CMA music video of the year. The clip was directed by Langley, John Park and Wales Toney.
Langley ties with Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson as the most nominated artists heading into this year’s awards show, with six nominations each. Langley is also up for honors including new artist of the year, female vocalist of the year as well as single and song of the year, both for “You Look Like You Love Me” with Green.
This year’s CMA Awards will feature performances from artists including Kelsea Ballerini, BigXthaPlug, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Green, Miranda Lambert, Langley, Little Big Town, Patty Loveless, Moroney, Old Dominion, The Red Clay Strays and Shaboozey. Wilson will not only perform during the show, but will also be solo hosting the awards this year, after previously cohosting with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.
This year’s CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and the following day on Hulu.
