Xiaomi is taking a major step toward merging the worlds of mobile and PC gaming. The company’s latest innovation allows users to play full-fledged PC titles directly on their smartphones—no internet streaming required.
According to Sun Cun, product manager at Redmi, the newly released Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max come equipped with a PC Game Engine that supports Steam integration. The announcement was made on the Chinese social platform Weibo, sparking excitement among gamers eager to bring their PC libraries to mobile devices.

At launch, the feature already supports popular titles like Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Stardew Valley. Unlike cloud-based services such as GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xiaomi’s approach runs these games natively on the device itself.
The capability is built into the Xiaomi Game Center, which now includes a dedicated section for PC games. Xiaomi says the system makes use of Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU and its own PC Graphics Translation Technology to deliver smooth performance similar to that of an entry-level gaming laptop.
Beyond simply running the games, the feature also supports the broader Steam ecosystem, including achievements, cloud saves, and multiplayer sessions through Steam Friends. The Redmi K90 series can connect to controllers, keyboards, and mice, allowing users to set up a complete gaming rig on the go. For touchscreen players, Xiaomi has included customizable virtual keyboards that adapt to different genres and playstyles.
To enhance immersion, Xiaomi upgraded its haptic feedback system with more nuanced vibration patterns that mimic the tactile sensations of console controllers.
Redmi K90
For now, this functionality is limited to the Chinese versions of the Redmi K90 lineup. However, industry analysts expect Xiaomi to bring the technology to other models in the near future, especially as mobile gaming continues to expand globally.
There are also reports suggesting that the Redmi K90 Pro could launch internationally under the name POCO F8 Ultra, potentially making it the first Xiaomi smartphone outside China to support native Steam gameplay.
