Ahead of her concerts in New York City, Sabrina Carpenter is encouraging subway riders to please, please, please practice good etiquette on the trains.
As revealed Thursday (Oct. 30), the pop star has partnered with the public transit organization to record custom PSAs for riders to hear while making their commutes. The campaign comes amid Carpenter’s run of five shows at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, where the singer/songwriter has set up shop from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1.
“Hi, subway riders!” Carpenter says in a clip posted by the MTA on social media. “This is Sabrina Carpenter. Courtesy counts.”
“Especially when you’re headed to MSG to see my show!” she adds in the message. “That’s when it really counts.”
In the caption, the MTA wrote, “Heading to see Sabrina Carpenter at The Garden this week? Take the subway! You might hear short n’ sweet station announcements by Sabrina herself.”
The two-time Grammy winner is just the latest musician to team up with the MTA to lend their voice to subway PSAs. Cardi B recently recorded a series of announcements discouraging subway surfing and discourteous behavior on the trains, telling riders in one, “Ride safe, keep it cute, and keep it moving.”
In October 2024 ahead of her own stay at MSG, Billie Eilish recorded encouragements to take the subways for environmental benefits. “If you’re planning to see my concert this week, ditch the car and help the planet by riding the MTA to Madison Square Garden,” she said the PSAs.
Once her slate of performances at MSG concludes, Carpenter will have less than a month left on her sprawling Short n’ Sweet Tour. The singer originally launched the trek in September 2024 in support of her album Short n’ Sweet, but has since dropped another LP, Billboard 200 topper Man’s Best Friend.
