Static-X has been revisiting their 1999 classic Wisconsin Death Trip lately, and now they’ve got some pretty rare for fans to dig into! Static-X is now streaming the Wisconsin Death Trip B-side “Down”, which was originally a Japanese bonus track. The song comes alongside a visualizer featuring imagery from 1998.
“We’ve always known there were gems buried in the Wisconsin Death Trip archives but seeing Exum’s images come to life in this new visualizer feels like stepping back into 1998,” said Static-X of the track. “‘Down’ was a track we always loved and giving it this new visual energy is our way of celebrating Wayne, the album, and the fans who have kept this music alive for 25 years.”
“Down” is one of the many surprises to be found on the reissue of Wisconsin Death Trip, aptly named The Ultimate Death Trip. The reissue features Wisconsin Death Trip remastered by original Producer Ulrich Wild and a second disc of demos, alternate versions and rare tracks is included.
The original photographer for the packaging unearthed hundreds of never before seen photos from the shoot and the band have used them to completely redesign the packaging. Get it here as either a gigantic box set, or a pared down version with some (still pretty great) goodies. You can also catch Static-X at one of their festival appearances in 2026 below.
