In December 2025, a rumor resurfaced that pop icon Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce — who announced their engagement in August 2025 — publicly confirmed their pregnancy. “BREAKING: “BABY NO.1 ON THE WAY!” — Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce officially confirm they are expecting their first child!” One Facebook post (archived) read.
The posts featured an image appearing to show Swift and Kelce holding up a series of ultrasound images.
The image allegedly showing Swift and Kelce holding the ultrasound images traces back to at least March 2025, when one post (archived) received more than 22,000 reactions on Facebook, but the rumor again resurfaced shortly after their engagement announcement on Aug. 26, 2025. For example, Facebook account USA Pulse Today posted the claim on Sept. 2, 2025. The post read:
JUST IN: “Baby NO.1 on the way”. Pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have announced that they are expecting their first child together. The couple, who have been making headlines with their high-profile relationship, celebrated the joyous occasion with a party in Florida. Social media has been flooded with congratulatory messages, as Swifties and NFL fans alike express their happiness for the couple

Variations of the rumor spread in September 2025 on other Facebook accounts, as well.
Some readers seemed to interpret the rumor as a factual recounting of real-life events. However, there was no evidence of Swift and Kelce announcing a pregnancy.
Some early posts from March 2025 featured a watermark in the lower right corner indicating that the image originated from Grok’s AI image generation service; more recent iterations of the claim cropped out the watermark.

A Google search of the keywords “Taylor Swift Travis Kelce pregnancy announcement” primarily yielded results related to the baseless claim in question on social media; it did not show any results from reputable news outlets.

The December 2025 picture of Swift and Kelce appearing to hold ultrasound images was similarly AI-generated; a sharp eye will notice unnaturally pronounced lines and shapes around Swift’s mouth, nose and chin, and a nail that appeared larger than her finger.

Rather, the rumor about Swift and Kelce’s alleged pregnancy announcement after their engagement originated with the Facebook account USA Pulse Today — a social media account that displays numerous posts that appear to be AI-generated. The post in question linked to a story on an advertisement-filled website that began:
JUST IN: “Baby No. 1 on the Way” – Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Announce Pregnancy, Celebrate in Florida
In a heartwarming revelation that has sent shockwaves through both the music and sports worlds, pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL superstar Travis Kelce have announced that they are expecting their first child together. The couple, who have dominated headlines for months with their high-profile romance, shared the exciting news during a private celebration in Florida, surrounded by close friends and family.
Earlier versions of the claim linked to a story on a website that featured a disclaimer that it did not “warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.”
As of this writing, neither Swift’s nor Kelce’s Instagram accounts displayed the image used in the post in question, and AI-detection software Hive determined the image was 100% AI-generated. Furthermore, the September 2025 image appeared significantly blurred, and Swift’s hand appeared abnormally large — indicators of an image generated with AI software.

The Facebook page that originated the rumor has a history of making up stories for shares and comments, sometimes relying on artificial-intelligence writing software to do its storytelling. We’ve previously reported on another claim originating from the page involving an alleged adoption by talk-show host Stephen Colbert and his wife.
