THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA’s KYLE SIPRESS Reveals He Had No Input & No Parts On The Band’s New Album

The Devil Wears Prada is set to release their new record Flowers on November 14, and it doesn’t seem like everyone in the band participated in its creation.

According to The Devil Wears Prada guitarist and vocalist Kyle Sipress on Instagram (via The PRP), he was not involved at all in the writing or recording of Flowers: “I really appreciate that but it just is what it is. While it does make me sad and I wish I was a part of the creative side like I used to be, I do get to play guitar on stage for a living. Hopefully my ability to play live does the job this record calls for.”

He also touched on why he wasn’t involved with Flowers – and why drummer Giuseppe Capolupo was allegedly not involved – saying: “It’s pretty complicated but I think at the end of the day they had a vision and direction that was just easier and more conductive with me not being involved. Trying new things out and having less/different cooks in the kitchen.”

Sipress also addressed the situation to another fan, plainly stating: “I didn’t write or record on this record, just live.”

So yeah – The Devil Wears Prada‘s new record appears to be all keyboardist Jonathan Gering, vocalist and guitarist Mike Hranica, guitarist and vocalist Jeremy DePoyster, “and some songwriters from LA I believe.” Hranica and DePoyster are the only two original members of The Devil Wears Prada, while Gering joined the band officially in 2019.

The Devil Wears Prada has not commented on why they pared down their studio lineup or what this means for their future.
