Many of you have asked when Stereogum will share its 2025 Holiday Gift Guide, even though we haven’t published a gift guide since the Weezer Snuggie™ era. Well, today is the day. However we are starting small by only highlighting one thing, and that thing is Yngwie Malmsteen’s debut line of health supplements.
This past summer, the very busy Swedish neoclassical metal guitarist rocked the wellness world with his own specially formulated brand of protein powder, probiotic capsules, electrolyte supplements, and more. “These were made for me, I am a very busy man that travels the world while playing six shows in a row,” he posted. The Guitar Hero II icon debuted his “Force” multivitamin gummies (in cherry, raspberry, and strawberry) last summer, but I must admit I didn’t see the expansion pack coming.
I take these supplements to stay razor-sharp, night after night.

If maintaining peak performance is important to a friend or loved one of yours, you’ve probably already considered these products for gift-giving season. But do they work? “It really works,” Malmsteen told Eddie Trunk.
But do they taste good? The Hear ‘n Aid axeman has not said. So in a new holiday episode of our series Rachel’s Opinion, Stereogum’s protein powder correspondent Rachel Brown sought answers. In between gigs with Water From Your Eyes, they tested Yngwie Malmsteen’s pre-workout supplement (watermelon), Yngwie Malmsteen’s whey isolate protein supplement (chocolate), and the Yngwie Malmsteen’s Force multivitamin gummies.
I have never used protein powder in my life.

I also sprung for a Yngwie Malmsteen “MORE IS MORE” mug and a questionable Yngwie Malmsteen red cap, but you don’t need those to shred. That is more of a bonus thing for vertical video pizzazz and your Stereogum subscription dollars at work.
Stereogum does not receive any affiliate revenue if you choose to buy these products. Rachel’s Opinion is merely a public service. You should always check with your doctor or a registered dietitian before beginning a program of supplements endorsed by any heavy metal musician.
Check out our video gift guide below.
Yngwie Malmsteen’s whey isolate protein supplement is only available in a 21lb. tub. I am told that Rachel gifted it to a Water From Your Eyes bandmate after filming the video, so check in six months to see which of them got swole.
